Explain the conditions that have to be satisfied by an applicant before an adoption order can be granted by the court

  • The person adopting must have attained the age of 25 or be at least 21 years older than the adoptee
  • Must belong to the same race
  • Must have lived with the adoptee for at least three months
  • The adoptee must be infant
  • The adopter must agree to be under the supervision of an adoption
  • The adopter and the adoptee must belong to the same sex.
