This maxim literally means that “delegates must not delegate.” This maxim does not apply where
o The sub-delegation is authorized by the contract between the parties.
o It is authorized by law.
o It is affected with the principal’s knowledge.
o It is authorized by trade usage or custom.
o It is reasonably necessary for performance. o In cases of emergency.
