Hindu law is based on the Hindu Religion and Philosophy. It is a subsidiary source of law of Kenya recognized by the Hindu Marriage and Divorce Act and Hindu Succession Act. It only applies in the determination of civil cases relating to marriage, divorce succession or personal status in proceeding in which all parties profess Hindu faith.
