1. Explain five ways in which the Ministry of Labour facilitates the settlement of industrial disputes in Kenya. (10 marks)
b) Outline the importance of establishing good labour and industrial relations in an organization. (10 marks)

2. a) Explain the role of the Federation of Kenya Bmployers (FKE) in promoting good labour and industria1 relations in Kenya. (10 marks)
b) Before a grievance is identified in an organization, certain behaviours may be displayed by employees. Outline five such behaviours. (10 marks)

3. (a) One of the methods of settling industrial disputes is through arbitration. Outline the reasons for using this method. (10 marks)
b) Outline the measures that the International Labour Organization (ILO) may take to encourage its member countries to conform to its conventions. (10 marks)

4. (a) Outline five ways in which the employer may contribute to a successful collective bargaining process. (10 marks)
b) Outline the ways in which management may contribute to poor labour relations. (10 marks)
5. a) Wendo Company Limited has signed a joint consultative agreement with its employees whereby workers will have to be involved in making all decisions affecting their worklife. Outline the forms that such joint consultations in decision making may take. (10 marks)
(b) Outline the responsibility of a negotiator in an industrial negotiation process. (10 marks)

6. (a) Explain the powers accorded to a labour officer as a government representative while dealing with labour matters within an organization. (10 marks)
b) The rise of trade union movement in Kenya came as a way of resolving labour and industrial issues. Yet some organisations discourage their workers from being unionized. Explain the reasons for this discouragement. (10 marks)

7. (a) Outline the circumstances under which the registrar of trade unions may suspend the registration certificate of a registered trade union. (10 marks)
(b) Explain the reasons that make st necessary for an organization to have joint consultations. (10 marks)
